Innovation as it pertains to growth is a complex topic, particularly in Oregon. Come learn about how partner agencies in Bend navigate the growth process while balancing requirements from the State of Oregon and federal regulation with the desires of citizens of the community to implement those policies strategically. The panel will include experts from ECONorthwest, the City of Bend and Bend Parks and Recreation District to discuss topics related to growth such as:

  • Peer city analysis of other amenity-rich communities related to challenges in growth
  • How the City of Bend focuses on infill and density development while identifying expansion needs per state requirements
  • How the City of Bend and the Bend Parks and Recreation District work together to provide open space
  • What are the partnerships that go into the growth process and who manages what?
  • What opportunities are offered to engage with the community?
